Which Road Will You Choose? When you are born, there is but one road and it is shaped by your parents. If they are hard on you, you will know nothing but the bumpy road, if you are overprotected you will know nothing but the smooth road. If you are loved and disciplined, you will know both roads. By knowing that there are two roads in life, you will be prepared to face the biggest challenges God has planned for you. You will know that there isn't sunshine without rain nor is there rain without sunshine. There is no smooth road without bumps and no bumpy roads without smoothness. When the time comes where you must decide what road it is you want to take, which one will you choose? Will you choose the only road you've ever known, whether it be the bumpy or the smooth, or will you look on the horizon, where the sun is shining brightly and discover that third road, the trail in the woods, the uncertain one. If you take one step on this trail, you could come face to face with the biggest bear you've ever seen, you could smell the freshest lawn that's just been cut, you could get lost in the tangles of the brush, or you could follow that cute little squirrel and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. The question will one day arise and you will have to make this choice, as hard as it may be. Which road will you choose? Nico
Have We Lost Our Faith? When I was a little girl, I was told there's a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow. As I grew up, people told me it was just a myth, like Santa Claus. Well, who has ever been to the end of a rainbow to know this? That I know of, no one. What's to say there isn't one? Just because other people say it isn't there, it doesn't mean it isn't does it? I believe it's there even though I know I might never know for sure. I've got faith in that. The same thing applies to God. Just because we can't see Him, it doesn't mean he isn't there. You just have to believe he is. If your sister's halfway across the world and you can't see her, is she really there? Does she really exist? In your heart you know she's there. Well, in my heart, I know God's out there somewhere too. The problem is that the world has lost its faith. Most people have lost the ability to imagine, to believe in things that they can't see. What's real to most is the visible, the seen. Why? Why is it that people always say, "I'll believe it when I see it?" Have we lost our ability to dream too? Is banning kids from saying their prayers in school going to make the world a better place? What are we thinking? I say keep on dreaming, keep playing pretend, keep imagining and creating, keep believing but most importantly, keep your faith! That is one thing that if you lose, you will lose everything but if you find and keep, you will find and keep everything that's important. Nico
Faith:
Love is believing in one another when you have nothing.
